About Jamie:
Jamie Dawson is a professional drummer from Oxford, England. He
is well trained, having been schooled by some of the best in the
field. He studied at Drumtech (London) for 1 year, then with Brian
Greene for 3 years, with Andy Leask technique guru from The
Guildhall School of Music (London)with well-regarded Jazz
drummer and technique master, Jim Chapin, Pete Riley & Bob
Armstrong
He has performed professionally in bands for 15 years and has been
signed to EMI & Parlophone, as well as indie labels Liquor & Poker
(Century Media) and most recently to Bam Margera's label Filthy
Note. Having toured the US and Europe extensively, recorded
numerous albums and, most importantly, has been a teaching for
14 years he can incorporate all aspects of today's music into his
lessons.
He was recruited by his teacher/mentor Brian Greene to teach for
his newly formed Gigajam school (UK) as one of the first teachers
in the new interactive school. Jamie, along with his fellow teachers,
helped build the school into the award winning school it is today.
After moving to Los Angeles he was could be found teaching at the
Burbank Music Academy. He believes anyone can play drums and
read music and it should be fun to do so. Within the first lesson the
student will be able to play and read a groove, so that they will be
able to play along with their favorite songs.
